Dr Michael is an accomplished dental surgeon and highly experienced medico-legal expert specialising in personal injury and dental clinical negligence. With more than two decades of clinical practice and extensive formal legal training, he provides authoritative, balanced, and CPR-compliant expert evidence for both claimant and defendant instructions.
Dr Michael holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, a Master of Laws (LLM) in the Legal Aspects of Medical Practice, and a Diploma in Legal Medicine. He is fully certified as an expert witness, with comprehensive Cardiff University Bond Solon (CUBS) training in civil procedure, report writing, courtroom skills, and cross-examination.
Over the last four years, Dr Michael has been instructed on more than 200 medico-legal cases, including over 100 clinical negligence cases in the past two years alone. His casework spans the full breadth of general dentistry, such as restorative and prosthetic treatments, periodontal disease, radiographic interpretation, misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis, treatment planning, catastrophic facial trauma, and regulatory compliance, including Covid-19 standards.

Dr Michael is an accomplished dental surgeon with over two decades of continuous clinical experience since qualifying in 2002. As Principal Dentist and Managing Partner at Michael Dental Care in Cheltenham, he delivers a full range of general and restorative dental treatments, including crowns, bridges, prosthetic rehabilitation, implant restoration, periodontal therapy, and minor oral surgery.
For the past 20 years, Dr Michael has served as the Managing Partner of a family-owned dental practice in Cheltenham. In this role, he has gained valuable insights into the day-to-day challenges faced by fellow dentists and practice owners. This unique perspective not only allows effective business management, but has also equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the legal and compliance issues that are integral to running a dental practice. His practice offers an exceptionally broad spectrum of dental care to patients of all ages. His expertise includes cosmetic dentistry, gum disease treatments, oral surgery and restorative dentistry.
He has extensive experience in diagnosing and managing complex dental conditions, dental trauma, and soft-tissue pathology, alongside providing comprehensive treatment planning and oral cancer screening. As a CQC-registered manager, Dr Michael leads on clinical governance, patient safety and regulatory compliance within the practice. His clinical practice extends to diagnosing and managing accident-related dental trauma (e.g., from falls, road traffic collisions) as part of his general practice workload.
