Medico-Legal Experience

Dr Mark Miller is a Consultant in Pain Management and an expert witness who has been writing reports since 2000. He accepts instructions from both claimants and defendants and can report on cases relating to personal injury, clinical negligence, condition and prognosis, breach of duty, and causation.

Dr Miller has completed reports covering the full breadth of pain management, including, but not limited to, crush injuries, Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS). He has particular specialist knowledge in relation to back, neck, and shoulder pain, and has produced many reports covering these topics over the years.

He is a highly regarded expert among solicitors and has established a reputation for producing detailed and evidence-based reports. During the 20+ years of providing reports for the court, he has maintained a balanced C/D ratio of 50/50 and has appeared in court on numerous occasions to provide witness testimony.

Dr Miller continues to be available to provide oral evidence in court when required.

Clinical Experience

Dr Mark Miller qualified in 1990 (MBChB) at Manchester University and became a Consultant in 1999. Throughout his years of experience, he has perfected the use of steroid and facet joint injections, radiofrequency denervation techniques, and the use of Botox for pain conditions. He has a special interest in sports injury medicine and has treated a number of professional footballers.

He regularly performs x-ray-guided facet joint injections and epidural injections for pain relief and is interested in the precision diagnosis of spinal pain with the help of nuclear medicine investigation using SPECT CT scanning. In addition, Dr Miller has wide experience in all types of anaesthesia and specialises in the treatment of back, spinal pain and chronic pain.

Dr Miller has a compassionate approach to his clinical work and has a passion for delivering patient-centred care by instilling confidence into his patients and prioritising their wellbeing.

If it is mainly about the pain, then yes. Otherwise, the Claimant would be better off with a Rheumatology expert.

Can Dr Miller comment on trigeminal neuralgia?

Yes, Dr Miller has dealt with trigeminal neuralgia before.

Can you comment on cases involving an interscalene blocks?

Yes I can - I still do interscalene blocks for pain management but not as part of anaesthetic practice.
