Medico-Legal Experience

Dr Castle has over 25 years of experience preparing Medico-Legal and expert psychiatric reports.
His work includes complex assessments involving risk, substance misuse, personality disorders and
antisocial behaviour. During these years, he has completed thorough, evidence-based reports
covering psychiatric sequelae of head and spinal injury following road traffic accidents, and
psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and delusional disorder.

For the past four years, he has produced an average of 60+ reports per year, with a cumulative total
of over 1,000 cases covering both psychiatric and neuropsychiatric aspects of clinical negligence and
personal injury claims. His caseload is split 70/30 between clinical negligence and personal injury
matters, in which he regularly provides expert opinion on breach of duty, condition and prognosis,
and causation.

He has extensive experience in the criminal justice system, having prepared numerous reports
addressing psychiatric defences, fitness to plead, and Mental Health Act considerations. His forensic
reports often involve detailed risk assessments and evaluations of the impact of illicit drug use,
alcohol misuse, and personality difficulties.

Dr Castle remains actively employed within the NHS, where he runs a regional Neuropsychiatry
