Medico-Legal Experience

Dr Dev is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine who has acted as an Expert Witness for over 7 years. He has completed Bond Solon Expert Witness training. He is instructed by Claimants and Defendants in personal injury and clinical negligence related cases.

Dr Dev is happy to opine on condition and prognosis reports, including breach of duty, liability and causation. He regularly writes medical witness reports for the police service and Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) for patients that have attended the Emergency Department.

Dr Dev has experience with cases associated with:

  • Major and minor injuries
    – Assessment
    – Performing investigations
    – Initiating treatment and arranging ongoing further management
  • Soft tissue injuries
    – Closure of wounds with sutures, clips, steri-strips and tissue adhesive glue
  • Musculoskeletal injury
  • Dislocations and fractures
  • Trips, slips and falls
  • Burns
  • Chemical burns
  • Coroner report

Dr Dev’s appointment availability is 2 weeks and his report turnaround is 4-6 weeks.

Clinical Experience

Dr Dev is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Over the past 14 years, he has been involved in Medical Education, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is a Deputy Director of Medical Education, the lead Foundation Training Programme Director at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals.

He is a Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Medical School, King’s College London. An Educational Supervisor for year 4 & 5 medical students and supervises year 4 QIP projects. He regularly teaches medical students that have placements in the Emergency Department at St Thomas’ Hospital.

He supervise elective medical students on a regular basis and provides educational supervision to trainees of all grades. He is involved with faculty development, delivering on the supervision courses for educational and clinical supervisors and developing the faculty to deliver simulation training. He developed, and lead and teach on number simulation courses regularly at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals for the multidisciplinary team.
