Dr Das is a Consultant Paediatric and Adult Anaesthetist and medico-legal expert witness with extensive experience completing medicolegal reports for neonates, children, and adult anaesthesia. He has also produced multiple investigation reports for Nuffield Health and is a clinical negligence case reviewer for the GMC.
Dr Das completed the Bond-Solon ‘Excellence in Report Writing’ and ‘Civil Procedure Rules’ courses. He continues to develop his medicolegal knowledge through attending the NRC Medical Experts Training Day and The Medicolegal Conference, London in 2026. He also regularly attends online CPD training in Clinical Negligence.
He is a member of the Expert Witness Institute and Gateway, and a vetted member of the UK Register of Expert Witnesses and the Faculty of Expert Witnesses. Dr Das accepts instructions from both claimants and defendants in cases relating to, but not limited to, critical care medicine, ventilation management, hypoxia, brain injury, and failed intubation.
He has a particular interest in paediatric craniofacial surgery, neurosurgery, and interventional radiological procedures and has extensive experience within the NHS, having worked there for over 20 years.
He has a thorough, timely, and professional approach to report writing and can provide oral evidence in court when required.

Dr Das’ appointment availability is 2-4 weeks and he has a report turnaround time of 4-6 weeks.

Dr Das is a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist at Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust (appointed. 2006) and a previous Clinical Lead for Paediatric Anaesthesia. He studied at St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School, London and trained in anaesthesia in Wessex. He also worked as a Fellow in paediatric anaesthesia for one year in Ann Arbour, Michigan, USA. His clinical interests are anaesthesia for craniofacial surgery, interventional radiology and remote site anaesthesia. Dr Das has lectured nationally and internationally on these topics. He has a longstanding interest in online education and high-fidelity simulation.
In 2020, he was elected to the Council of the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (APAGBI). Dr Das served as Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee from 2016-2025 and is the Lead for Paediatric Anaesthesia at Nuffield Manor Hospital. Dr Das also sits on the Expert Advisory Group for Paediatrics, Theatres/HSSU and the National Medical Advisory Group for Nuffield Health.
Dr Das served as Education Editor for the research journal, Paediatric Anaesthesia 2021-2025, and Honorary Secretary for the APAGBI 2021-2024. In 2022, Dr Das became the first Anaesthetist to be elected as a full member of the European Society for Craniofacial Surgery (ESCFS) and also became an associate member of the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery in 2025. Dr Das became President-Elect for the APAGBI in May 2025. In his private practice, Dr Das anaesthetises adults and children in Oxford and Wiltshire.
