Medico-Legal Experience
Dr Michael is an accomplished dental surgeon and highly experienced medico-legal expert specialising in personal injury and dental clinical negligence. With more than two decades of clinical practice and extensive formal legal training, he provides authoritative, balanced, and CPR-compliant expert evidence for both claimant and defendant instructions.
Dr Michael holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, a Master of Laws (LLM) in the Legal Aspects of Medical Practice, and a Diploma in Legal Medicine. He is fully certified as an expert witness, with comprehensive Cardiff University Bond Solon (CUBS) training in civil procedure, report writing, courtroom skills, and cross-examination.
Over the last four years, Dr Michael has been instructed on more than 200 medico-legal cases, including over 100 clinical negligence cases in the past two years alone. His casework spans the full breadth of general dentistry, such as restorative and prosthetic treatments, periodontal disease, radiographic interpretation, misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis, treatment planning, catastrophic facial trauma, and regulatory compliance, including Covid-19 standards.
He is able to provide well-reasoned expert opinion on causation, liability, breach of duty and condition and prognosis. He is experienced in working collaboratively with legal professionals and medical experts and is able to provide oral evidence in court when required.
