Dr Andy Logan is a highly experienced Consultant in Pain Management with over 30 years of experience acting as a Bond Solon-accredited Expert Witness. His expertise lies in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of adults with chronic and complex pain conditions such as CRPS, long-term neuropathic pain, chronic post-operative pain, and lumbar, thoracic, and cervical pain.
As an Expert Witness, Dr Logan prepares approximately 100 medico-legal reports each year and is instructed by both claimants and defendants in personal injury and clinical negligence cases. While he has historically acted predominantly for Claimants, he now undertakes an increasing number of instructions for Defendants. He has attended Court on more than five occasions, and his commitment to delivering expert testimony is exemplified by his courtroom experience, including his pivotal role in a 2020 case in which his report helped determine the outcome.
He is happy to opine on meticulous reports covering causation, condition and prognosis, liability, and breach of duty.
Dr Logan remains at the forefront of developments in pain through actively participating in leading international conferences and professional societies. He has attended medico-legal conferences and courses, and appeared at the European Pain Federation (EFIC) meeting in Florence in 2013, the British Pain Society Annual Scientific Meeting in 2014 and 2015, and the World Pain Congress in Montreal in 2020.
He is dedicated to advancing knowledge in pain management and has served as a member of the Merseyside Pain Training Advisory Committee. Dr Logan continues to train general practitioners, nurses, and patients in effective pain management and rehabilitation strategies.

Dr Logan is a Consultant with over 25 years of experience in the Countess of Chester NHS Trust, now exclusively engaged in private practice and medico-legal reporting. His expertise lies in anaesthetics, pain management, chronic and neuropathic pain, with a particular focus on adult pain relief, rehabilitation for painful conditions and fibromyalgia.
His professional involvement encompasses the comprehensive assessment and treatment of patients with long-term pain or acute exacerbations of pain. Dr Logan is renowned for his holistic approach to pain management, offering multidisciplinary pain management programs and tailored long-term treatment plans for complex chronic pain conditions that may not respond to conventional therapies.
He employs various modalities of pain relief, including transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF), percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (PENS), pulsed radiofrequency treatments and advanced interventional techniques like spinal cord stimulation.
Dr Logan operates his own fully equipped unit, which is soon to receive CQC approval. He also oversees a team of professionals and collaborates with several private hospitals. While he maintains a broad scope of practice, he prefers to avoid highly specialised and serious psychological issues, considering himself a “general interventionist”.
