Mr Mark Prempeh is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon and has been an expert witness since 2020. He has completed Bond Solon training and accepts instructions from both claimants and defendants in cases relating to condition and prognosis, personal/serious injury, clinical negligence, breach of duty, causation, and liability.
Throughout his time as an expert witness, Mr Prempeh has opined on a wide range of reports, including, but not limited to, spinal stenosis, Failed Back Surgery (FBS), Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES), and spinal fractures. He has particular specialist knowledge in spinal infections and degenerative spinal conditions of the lumbar, cervical, and thoracic spine, and has completed many reports on these topics.
Mr Prempeh has amassed invaluable experience from his time within the NHS and is known for his well-structured and comprehensive reporting style.
He has been summoned to court on several occasions, but as of yet, has not been required to give oral evidence; he is available to do so when necessary.

Mr Prempeh’s appointment availability is 4 – 6 weeks and has a report turnaround time of 6 – 8 weeks.
Mr Prempeh is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at the Mid and South Essex Hospital (Broomfield) and East Suffolk North Essex Foundation Trust (Ipswich). He obtained his medical training at the University of the West Indies and trained in Trauma and Orthopaedics on the East of England Orthopaedic Training programme.
Mr Prempeh obtained FRCS in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 2015. He then undertook extensive training in Spinal surgery during fellowships at reputed centres including Ipswich, Stoke and Exeter. He was then appointed as Consultant Spinal Surgeon in 2018.
He is also an associate lecturer at ARU (Chelmsford) and AUA (Antigua).
His current practice involves all aspects of spinal surgery (cervical, thoracic and lumbar), and he provides a spinal on-call service as a part of an 8-member team in Ipswich. His special interests include spinal infections, minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery for the lumbar spine and anterior lumbar surgery.
