Medico-Legal Experience

Mr Peter Peev has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2004 and an expert witness since 2014. He is a fully accredited medical expert and completed the Bond Solon training course in 2021. He has also attended medicolegal essential courses and conferences on all aspects of medicolegal practices, demonstrating his commitment as an expert witness and his comprehensive understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules Part 35.

Mr Peev accepts instructions from both claimants and defendants, and completes reports relating to personal injury, clinical negligence, criminal matters, liability, condition and prognosis, causation, and breach of duty. He has particular specialist knowledge in adult and paediatric knee and hip surgery, and has reported on these topics numerous times throughout his medical legal career.

Since 2014, Mr Peev has completed approximately 750 reports and is known for his methodical approach to reporting. His time within the NHS has provided him with invaluable knowledge covering the full breadth of orthopaedics and, most significantly, knee and hip surgery.

He has received numerous witness summons but has yet to attend court; he is available to provide oral evidence in court when required.

His appointment availability is 2-4 weeks, and his report turnaround time is 4-6 weeks.

Clinical Experience

Mr Peter Peev provides an elective orthopaedic service to his patients, with a specialism in hip and knee conditions. He trained at the Medical University of Varna and graduated in 1999. Mr Peev then became a fully accredited Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2004. He currently carries out around 150 joint replacements per year and 200-300 day cases.

His surgical expertise covers the following fields: elective orthopaedic surgery, hip arthroplasty, primary and revision surgery, and knee arthroplasty. The National Joint Registry reports certify that his results in hip and knee surgery are of a good standard and outcome.

Mr Peev’s clinic work also involves soft tissue knee surgery involving arthroscopic meniscal surgery, patella stabilisation, and realignment procedures. He also conducts cases relating to trauma surgery, major and minor trauma to lower and upper limbs, as well as routine trauma and complex periarticular, intraarticular, and periprosthetic fractures.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you comment on calcaneum fractures from a fall from a ladder?

The calcaneum fractures are more in the field of foot and ankle surgery. I believe a foot and ankle surgeon would be more suitable for this case.

Can you comment on hip impingement surgery?

No, this falls outside of my remit.
