Medico-Legal Experience

Mr Papaspyros is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon whose current practice involves all aspects of adult cardiac surgery.

He is instructed by Claimants and Defendants in clinical negligence and personal injury cases associated with:

  • Trauma to the chest
    • Blunt chest trauma (cardiac/heart)
    • Sternal wound problems
  • Valve replacement
    • Double valve re-operation for bleeding following pacing wire removal
    • Mitral valve replacement/repair
  • Chest drain insertion injuries
  • Bypass grafts
  • Endocarditis
  • Misdiagnosis
  • Aortic dissection
  • Post-op haemorrhagic stroke
  • Anaesthetic injury (such as injuries relating to central line insertion, arterial line insertion)

Mr Papaspyros’ report turnaround time is 2-4 weeks.

Clinical Experience

Mr Papaspyros is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Leeds, and his current practice involves all aspects of adult cardiac surgery. He is the clinical lead for the cardiac surgery department in Leeds General Infirmary and has served as Governance and Mortality Lead for the past two years.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Papaspyros is also a prolific researcher, with a publication history that covers all aspects of cardiac and thoracic disease, as well as medical education. He has a post-graduate certificate in medical education from the University of Dundee and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds Medical School, where he is actively involved in teaching and research.

He strongly believes in the covenantal nature of the patient-doctor relationship, which is founded on the principles of kindness, trust, honesty, accountability, availability, and confidentiality.
