Medico-Legal Experience

Mr Ameh is an experienced Consultant in Accident and Emergency Medicine and has been a Expert Witness since 2009. He combines his 17 years of being a specialist in medico-legal practice with a longstanding clinical career in emergency care.

Mr Ameh’s medico-legal expertise is grounded in formal expert witness training including Bond Solon and extensive experience preparing bespoke expert reports for personal injury, clinical negligence and criminal matters. He is routinely instructed by claimant and defendant teams and has experience in court attendance and specialist medico-legal assessments.

His medico-legal work encompasses evaluation and reporting on a broad range of emergency care issues—including trauma, soft-tissue and whiplash injuries, missed or delayed diagnosis (such as fractures, sepsis, appendicitis, stroke and acute coronary syndromes), resuscitation practice and advanced life support.

Mr Ameh has a balanced ratio of CN and PI work and is happy to opine on condition and prognosis, breach of duty, liability and causation.

Mr Ameh’s availability is 2-3 weeks and has a report turnaround time of 3-4 weeks.

Clinical Experience

Mr Ameh is a substantive Consultant in Emergency Medicine (A&E) at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan, Greater Manchester. He is in active clinical practice at a large teaching hospital that also functions as a designated Trauma Unit.

He graduated in medicine from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, in 1990. Following this, he undertook extensive postgraduate training in both General Surgery and Emergency Medicine in the United Kingdom. He completed his higher specialist training in 2009 and was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Emergency Medicine.

Mr Ameh is a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He also holds a Master’s degree in Medical Law and Ethics from Keele University, providing a strong academic foundation for his medico-legal work.

Mr Ameh is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester and Edge Hill University Medical School. He is Clinical Lead for Major Trauma and Trust Specialty Training Lead at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and a Senior Examiner for the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and the University of Manchester Medical School.

He is actively involved in medical education, training, and research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications available on request. He has significant experience assisting solicitors, barristers, and professional organisations in the preparation of high-quality personal injury and clinical negligence reports, consistently receiving positive professional feedback.
