Medico-Legal Experience

Ms Lynda Lee is a Paediatric & Adult Nursing Consultant and Care Expert, as well as an Expert Witness with 14 years of experience. She has completed Bond Solon Expert Witness training and is instructed by Claimants and Defendants in clinical negligence, personal injury, and criminal cases. She also acts as a Nursing advisor and Expert Witness for the police, and has experience in attending Court in both civil and criminal cases.

Clinical negligence relating to: 

Paediatric:

  • Occipital pressure sores resulting in hair loss and requirement of plastic surgery intervention
  • Injuries resulting in blistering, necrosis, residual scarring and skin contractures
  • DVT/femoral artery thrombosis
  • Police investigations (e.g. child abuse)
  • Extravasation injuries
  • Failure to recognise acute illness in children by correctly utilising PEWS scores

Adult:

  • Adult assessment/misdiagnosis of mesothelioma and life-limiting conditions
  • Police investigations
  • Hospital and community-acquired pressured ulcers
  • Hospital and community unwitnessed falls
  • Extravasation injuries
  • Failure to recognise acute illness in children by correctly utilising NEWS/EWS scores

Personal injury relating to:

Paediatric:

  • Amputation
  • Palliative care (including those suffering from cancer and other terminal conditions)
  • Assessment for profound disabilities and catastrophic injury management ( e.g. RTA)
  • Conditions relating to:
    • Epilepsy
    • Group B Streptococcal Meningitis

  • Palliative care (including those suffering from mesothelioma, cancer and other terminal conditions)

Criminal cases relating to:

  • Suspicious deaths in adults and children
  • Catastrophic injuries in adults and children
  • Suspicious child death in community care setting
  • Suspicious deaths in children with profound disabilities

Lynda’s appointment availability is from 8 weeks and she has a report turnaround time of 12-14 weeks.

Clinical Experience

Ms Lee has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She has worked in a variety of settings, including intensive care care units, hospice, and community care. Ms Lee has extensive experience with a wide range of medical conditions, including life-limiting conditions, multi-organ failure, obstetric emergencies, organ transplantations, neurological conditions, acquired brain injuries, oncology, and complex neurological disabilities.

As the senior nurse in intensive care for 15 years, she was responsible for management of people, change, resources, maintaining and improving quality, decision making and professional advice.

As head of care for two childrens hospices, Ms Lee was the registered manager for the Healthcare Commission (now Care Quality Commission) commissioned a new service and ensured the accommodation and facilities met the physical and psychological needs of children and young people with profound disabilities. She had responsibility for policies and procedures in line with national and local guidelines.

Until August 2021, Ms Lee was a bank nurse in a private hospital, nursing paediatric patients in recovery on the ward post-operatively, and adults in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

She maintains her RGN and RSCN registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
