On April 24th, we had the pleasure of attending the AvMA/Fieldfisher Charity Quiz Night in Manchester alongside two of our Experts, Victor Ameh (A&E) and Teresa Kelly (Obstetrics), as well as our friends from Mobile Doctors, Hannah Holden and Nichola Hayes.
Hosted by the Fieldfisher Clinical Negligence (PIMN) team and generously supported with welcome drinks by Byrom Street Chambers, this wasn’t your average quiz. It was a night filled with friendly competition, laughter, and a chance to raise vital funds for a very worthy cause.
Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA): Champions for Patient Safety
AvMA is a dedicated organisation working tirelessly to improve patient safety and ensure access to justice in the aftermath of medical malpractice. Their vital work supports those who have suffered due to medical negligence, providing them with the resources and guidance they need to navigate the legal system and seek the compensation they deserve.

The quiz night was proudly hosted by Fieldfisher’s Clinical Negligence (PIMN) team in Manchester. Fieldfisher is a global law firm with a strong commitment to social responsibility. Their decision to partner with AvMA for this event reflects their dedication to supporting those who have been impacted by medical negligence.
A Night of Fun, Food and Fundraising
The evening kicked off with a warm welcome drink sponsored by Byrom Street Chambers. Guests were then treated to a delicious hot food buffet, providing some brain fuel for the quiz! Throughout the quiz, teams battled it out across a range of questions, testing their knowledge on everything from current events to trivia.
We particularly enjoyed the Little Miss and Mr Men picture round, where Hannah managed to get ‘Little Miss Sparkle’. Our medical experts were on hand to identify the liver as the largest internal organ in the body, and Gavin’s expertise in film one-liners turned out to be very useful!
Every raffle ticket purchased, every question answered, and every riddle solved contributed directly to AvMA’s vital work in ensuring better patient safety and access to justice.
A Night to Remember
The MLAS and Expert Witness team had a fantastic time at the AvMA/Fieldfisher Charity Quiz Night. We even had the pleasure of bumping into some old friends and colleagues from Fieldfisher, PIC Legal Costs, F&A Associates, Ontime Reports, and Fletchers to name a few.
It was a wonderful opportunity to combine a fun evening of friendly competition with supporting a cause we all deeply care about.
