Ms Hemingway is a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 28 years’ clinical experience in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, trauma and rehabilitation practice. She has worked extensively across NHS, private practice and elite sport settings, managing complex injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation. Her expertise has gained her to work with several elite sporting organisations.
Ms Hemingway acts as an independent medico-legal expert, accepting instructions from both Claimant and Defendant. She provides expert opinion in personal injury and related matters, with particular expertise in the assessment of injury, functional impairment, rehabilitation needs and prognosis. Her reports address causation, condition and future treatment requirements within the scope of physiotherapy expertise, and are prepared in accordance with the duties of an expert to the court.
She has undertook the Bond Solon Expert Report Writing and Court Room Skills course to further enhance her medico-legal skills and is an active member of the Medico Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MLACP).
Ms Hemingway is a member of the Medico-Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MLACP) and undertakes regular medico-legal training, including expert report writing and court-compliant practice. She is recognised for producing clear, balanced and objective reports grounded in detailed clinical assessment and evidence-based rehabilitation principles. Ms Hemingway has demonstrated a proven track record across professional sport, the legal and the pharmaceutical/medical industries.

Ms Hemingway qualified from Manchester University in 1996 and completed her early clinical training at Salford Royal Infirmary, where she gained experience treating patients with neurological, respiratory, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Her career spans both NHS and elite sporting environments, having worked with professional and Olympic level athletes. Ms Hemingway has provided physiotherapy services to Burnley Football Club, Wigan Warriors and Huddersfield Giants Rugby League Clubs, The Lawn Tennis Association, and the English Institute of Sport supporting UK Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
Her clinical background also includes sports physiotherapy, managing injury rehabilitation and return-to-performance across a range of sporting populations. She applies biomechanical analysis and evidence-based rehabilitation principles to guide safe return to activity.
She has worked in a private practice and developed specialist expertise in orthopaedic rehabilitation, particularly following upper limb and complex shoulder surgery.
She has worked closely with shoulder surgeons, developing rehabilitation programmes after complex shoulder repair.
Ms Hemingway has worked as a Fitness to Practice Partner with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) for the past seven years. She has an in-depth knowledge of physiotherapy professional standards, conduct and the regulatory framework of physiotherapy and is able to utilise this knowledge when reviewing professional practice.
In 2001, as part of her Master’s degree in Sports Injury and Therapy at Mnchester Metropolitan University, her research project led to a presentation at a conference; her paper, ‘Changes in muscle strength and pain in response to surgical repair of posterior abdominal wall disruption followed by rehabilitation’ was published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine in 2003.
